Instructions
  1. Combine apples and sugar and let stand.
  2. Beat eggs slightly, beat in oil and vanilla.
  3. Mix and sift flour, bi carbonate of soda, cinnamon and salt; stir alternatively with apples and sugar mixture.
  4. Stir in walnuts, pour in greased pan, bake at 175c for 60 minutes or until cake test done. Allow cake to cool completely before frosting.
  5. For the frosting; Cream butter, add sugar, gradually creaming thoroughly; beat in juice and enough cold water to make spreading consistency; beat in salt and spread on cake.
