  1. Cut broccoli into florets, Trim stem and cut into slices. Boil, steam or microwave broccoli and stem until just tender. Drain well.
  2. Spray a large, heated non-stick fry pan with cooking oil. Add onion. Cook, stirring until soft. Add mince. Cook, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned.
  3. Stir in pasta sauce and bring to the boil. Simmer, uncovered, for 2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Stir in half the broccoli. Divide mixture among 4 oven-proof dishes (1 1/2 cup capacity).
  4. Boil potatoes until tender. Drain well. Place potatoes in a bowl with cheese and remaining cooked broccoli. Mash until combined. Season with salt and pepper. Spoon mixture over top of mince. Place dishes onto an oven tray.
  5. Cook in a hot (200 degree C) for about 15 to 20 minutes or until heated through.
  6. Serve pies garnished with fresh herbs of your choosing.
