  1. Whisk eggs and milk together in a bowl. Spread cornflakes over a plate.
  2. Dip sliced bread into the egg mixture, then into the cornflake crumble, ensuring it's well coated.
  3. Melt butter in a frying pan over medium heat and fry each piece of bread until golden, approx two to three minutes per side.
  4. Meanwhile, cook the bacon in a separate pan.
  5. Serve the french toast with the bacon on top, and lightly drizzle maple syrup over the whole dish.
