  1. Beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla in small bowl until smooth.

  1. Measure flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and butter into a medium bowl. Stir in milk until ball is formed. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead 8 times. Roll into a 20 x 40 cm rectangle. Spread with filling. Sprinkle with cherries and raisins. Roll up from long side like a jam roll. Seal long edge. Place seam side down on a greased baking tray. Form into a ring. Pinch ends together to seal. Using scissors, cut from outside edge toward middle, over halfway through roll at 2.5 cm intervals. Turn each cut section on its side. Bake in 220c oven for 18 - 20 minutes until golden. Cool slightly.
Glaze
  1. Stir icing sugar and water in a small bowl, adding more icing sugar or water if needed to make a barely pour able consistency. Drizzle over barely warm tea ring.
