  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C fan forced. Line oven tray with baking paper.
  2. Place flour in large bowl with 2 tablespoons cheese spread. Mix gently, adding sufficient buttermilk to form soft dough. Knead lightly on floured surface and press out to a 20 cm x 30 cm thick rectangle.
  3. Spread with Vegemite and 1/2 cup cheese spread, leaving 2 cm along one long side. With long side of dough facing you, gently roll to form a log, towards uncovered edge. Cut into 8 cm pieces with a serrated knife and place close together, cut side up, on baking tray. Brush with egg. Bake 20 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Serve with remaining cheese spread.
Recipe Notes

For Peanut Butter and Honey Swirls, add 2 tablespoons honey at step 2. Leave out the vegemite and cheese spread at step 3 and spread with 1/2 cup smooth Peanut Butter. Serve with extra honey.
