Snacks! An important part of your nutrition yet a lot of confusion hangs around snacking throughout the day.
Having snacks (otherwise known as small meals) is an effective way to add extra nutrients into your day, prevent over eating at mealtimes and it helps to keep your blood sugars level.
You shouldn't snack right before a meal and keep your size to around 420kj (100c).
Some snack ideas!
- 20 Strawberries
- 300g Watermelon
- 350g Rockmelon
- 1 1/4c Blueberries
- 1 Banana
- 1 Boiled egg and 2 Vitawheat biscuits
- 2 Vitawheat biscuits with 50g lean ham, smear of avocado and a handful of cherry tomatoes
- 1 tin of tuna, 2 Vitawheat biscuits and as much veg as you like!
