  1. Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium- high heat. Add popping corn, then cover with a tight-fitting lid. Cook for 3-5 minutes, shaking the pan occasionally, until the sound of corn popping has stopped. Transfer to a large bowl.
  2. Melt butter in same pan over low heat. Put spices, salt and sugar in a small bowl, then mix to combine. Add to butter and heat for 30 seconds until aromatic. Add to popcorn and toss until well coated. Serve.
