  1. Pound steaks well with a meat mallet.
  2. Mix flour, salt and pepper in a shallow dish, Dip both sides of steak in flour mixture to coat.
  3. Heat 1/2 of cooking oil in a non-stick frying pan. Add 3 steaks, brown both sides well. Arrange in a medium roaster. Repeat with remaining cooking oil and steaks.
  4. Stir next 5 ingredients together in small bowl. Pour over steaks. Cover.
  5. Bake in 175c oven for 1 3/4 to 2 hours until tender.
  6. Add potatoes, carrots and onion. Bake, covered, for about 1 1/2 hours until vegetables are tender. Add a touch more water if needed.
