- 3 cups Self Raising Flour
- ¼ cup Brown Sugar
- 50 grams Butter chopped
- 2 Bananas mashed
- ½ cup Milk
- 1/3 cup Walnuts chopped

- Light a campfire and let it burn down until it’s just red-hot coals. Nestle a camp oven into the coals, and use a shovel to place some on the lid, to preheat the oven.
- Combine flour and sugar in a bowl, and add butter. Use your fingertips to rub in until combined. Make a well in the centre.
- Add mashed banana and milk, and, using a non-serrated knife, mix to a soft dough. Gather dough together with your hands (it will be soft and sticky), and place onto a large piece of oiled foil. Pat out to a 20cm round, and press the walnuts into the top. Use a large knife to deeply score the dough into eight portions.
- Use the foil to carefully lower damper into the camp oven and replace the lid. Cook for about 40 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Using tongs, lift the foil holding the damper out of the camp oven and place onto a cutting board. Cool slightly. Serve spread with butter and drizzled with golden syrup.
